With a lifelong love of culture and exploration, I often choose the road less traveled to see the world and meet people beyond my eastern North Carolina birthplace. My travels have taken me from one end of this continent to the other, around the world and back again. Similarly, my work experiences range from being a Medicare counselor, Habitat for Humanity AmeriCorps volunteer, and ESL instructor to serving in the United States Air Force as a weather specialist.
When I’m not working on this blog or obsessing over my book project, I’m reading, crafting, watching science and cooking shows, and observing life around me. Starting and keeping this online journal is just one of many ways I’ve determined in 2015 to change my world – one MLK (Ms. Lucretia King) dream at a time!
